Since embarking on this journey to revamp my website now that Fringe will have it's own little slice of the internet, I have had the pleasure of diving deep into my archives of photos, content and inspirations in search of the perfect elements to use in branding my new home.
Wow... how far I have come. I say this because, looking back at my older body of work I see so my change and progress.
I have been dedicated to painting for just over 2 years now - while, since childhood, I have alway been creative, I have always been willing to pick up a paint brush or a pen and get to making I have not ever really narrowed my focus and tried to make art full time before. At the start of my journey just under 3 years ago - art was an escape from a miserable work life situation. I was doing marketing and social media for a local company, I left that job in 2016 and jumped right into "being an artist." I walked out of there scared to take the first step but also knowing that 2 weeks later, I'd be showing at Gasparilla Festival of the Arts, an event that I wanted to be part of since I was 17 years-old. I am proof that you don't have to tolerate a bad situation and that if you are willing to pull up your bootstraps that you can achieve just about anything.
It's so obvious to me that I was starving for happiness, my work from this time in my life is so bright and vivid. Take a look at the pieces of work that helped me find my BRAVE and got the ball rolling to create Fringe and the life I am currently living. I am so thankful that art was there to help me dig out of a horrible place and that now, because of art I have made so many amazing friends and have been able to be part of so many amazing opportunities.
